Programme Outline

Edison LEGO
Sessions 1 – Familiar and Set up Edison Robot 

Technology Skills: Students familiarise themselves with the programming environment and how to download a program to the robot

Session 2 – Robot Movement : Driving 

Introduction to sequential programming : Students learn how the robot responds to command icons and bring together the concepts of time, spend and distance

Session 3 -Robot Movement : Turning 

Introduction to sequential programming : Students learn how the robot responds to command icons and bring together the concepts of angle

Session 4 – Clap Sensing 

Introduction to input ( Senors ) : Students learn how to make the robot respond to outside stimulus ( claps ). This lesson also includes a fun class activity.

Session 5 – Detect Obstacles 

Introduction to the concepts of obstacle detection : Students program the robot to make decision in response to obstacles in the robot’s environment

 

Session 1 – Intoduction to Brick and Software LEGO Mindstorms EV3 

Technology Skills: Students familiarise themselves with the programming environment and software and the robot

Sessions 2 – Behaviors Unit : Movement

Introduction to sequential programming : Students learn to write and run programs , move steering block , rotations , distance and sequential commands

Sessions 3 – Behaviors Unit : Basic Turning

Introduction to sequential programming : Students learn about the turning, types of turns , steering setting.

Sessions 4 – Behaviors Unit : Touch Sensors

Explore to usage of Touch Sensors : Students learn about wait Block , Touch Sensors and Patterns

 

Sessions 5 – Behaviors Unit : Move to near

Explore to usage of Ultrasonic Sensors : Students learn to use Ultrasonic Sensor.
